"Good memories of Modes Study Centre ... in the 1970s"

In the 1970s, I was a young and idealistic Canadian who aspired to learn about physics and math. I had some knowledge background in these subjects from high school in Canada, but realized A-levels were mainly focused at a higher level. Referred by a friend, I was really impressed when introduced to the highly qualified Modes directors, all of whom were engaged in teaching either physics, math, computers, or chemistry (biology and ESL were also taught). The school at that time had about 40+ students -- two from Britain, the rest from other parts of the world, and most were seeking entry to a UK college or university, or returning to their own countries. I look back at these two years of my life with fondness and gratitude. Without these studies I could not have succeeded when later I took a degree in secondary education, and subsequently taught high school math for 25 years. ZL.
